All the best places in the Flower Mound area to order food ahead for Thanksgiving
Feeding a crowd? Don't want to show up to the big meal empty-handed? Here are the best places to order ahead in the Flower Mound area to make sure you don't get trapped in the kitchen all day or end up bringing a sad Walmart veggie tray.
Thanksgiving is the 28th, browse these links, get your orders in and RELAX. We like to order from a couple places, a little mix and match action makes the day very delicious.
Save this page and browse the links while you have to wait for something unsatisfying, like the next Cowboys game! (Ohhhh, we sure did go there.)
Harold Dean Smoked Goods
Order by 11/24. This gem right in the middle of town offers smoked turkey and for a little bit extra they'll even carve it for you (very handy if you're taking it on the road this Turkey Day).
Grab mac and cheese, garlic green beans, apple pie and SMOKED CHEESECAKE, which is so unique it'll be the talk of the afternoon - we checked and nobody else in town has this one on the menu.
Flurry's Market and Provisions
Order by 11/20 at noon, all online. Get an all-natural turkey to cook at home or also add lots of showstopping pre-cooked cuts.
Standout items include Crawfish Dressing, Whole Cajun Fried Turkey, Loaded Baked Potato Casserole (OMG YES PLEASE) Smoked Prime Rib, Gooey Butter Cake, Banana Pudding, and you can even get gallons of HTeaO with your order this year, which is so convenient!
Old Town Meat Market
You have to call to pre-order, (deadline is 11/21) but if you want a special cut of meat with your name on it, this is how you do it. Check out the menu here. They've got pre-cooked cuts and not cooked at all, plus a few sides and pies for under $20.
Hive Bakery
Order by 11/20, all online, no forms or emails. There are seven pies to choose from. One of each would be staggering luxury, please invite us if you do that.
Chocolate Cream, Key Lime, Pumpkin, Apple Crumble, Blueberry Crumble, Cherry Crumble and this beauty, the Bourbon Pecan Chocolate Chip. All under $40, all delicious.
Buttermilk Sky Pie
We are Team Get A Lot Of Pies. There is no such thing as too many pies on Thanksgiving. Order here, no deadline is listed but...act fast they do cut it off. $36 each, add $3 for gluten-free.
Sip + Savor: Meal Kit for 4, $150
Option to add bottles of wine, which they are particularly good at. Desserts are extra. You have to fill out an order form and email it back, here's the link.
Choices include:
Coffee Rubbed NY Strip Roast, Herb Roasted Turkey Breast, Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Hot Honey Brussels Sprouts, Whole Strawberry Triple Layer Cake ($120), Chocolate Torte, gluten free ($90)
Whole Foods
Definitely not locally owned, but they run a mean to-go biz this time of year. Order by 11/26. Visit their website to get into the order path for the Highland Village store. They have EVERYTHING. Turkey, shrimps, sushi, cheese, bread, cakes, pies, SO MANY THINGS.
Get a whole meal or just use them for apps: the fruit tray and meat and cheese trays travel well and are a great item to bring places. We also love the queso bake, it's like the perfect one H-E-B sells, but you don't have to drive all the way over there for it.
Marty B's
They run a very well organized pick-up game this time of year. Order everything online. It's their regular menu, but portions are bigger for a crowd. This is a little more expensive than other options, but the quality is there. You won't be disappointed.
Order a lot, or just get a pan of mac and cheese for the kids, you know it's their favorite anyway.
