AutoZone is coming to south Flower Mound...yay?
Is this what you were hoping for? No. Is this what you're getting? Maybe.
Next allergy season when you need a new HEPA air filter for your car right-this-very-second, you'll be able to grab one on the way home from Chick-fil-A.
Where
Tucked between Wells Fargo and Taco Bell on FM 3040, we're getting an AutoZone on what is currently an empty lot in front of Walmart Neighborhood Market (affectionately called "Little Wal-Mart" on this website).
It'll (probably) be right where that logo is. Looks like the application went to the town on July 2, 2024. It's currently under review with town P&Z.
Maybe people want this?
While we respect the brand (more than 7,000 locations), we can't help but wish just about anything except AutoZone was going in that location.
If you're jazzed, please let us know. Are we missing out on something great at AutoZone?
We're more the type to order from our overlords at Amazon when we need car parts/accessories, but we do understand sometimes you need a car thing same-day, maybe even the same hour.
Why we're making a face
This lot is one of the very few walkable locations in Flower Mound for people who live in adjacent neighborhoods and we wish it was going to be more of a destination for something fun or delicious.
(We're very food and experience motivated here at FM Obsessed, and it's constantly what people in town say they want more of in the retail and restaurant survey.)
The building next door has had empty spots for years so maybe it's not as attractive a location as we think? With Firestone, the gas station, and Slyde's Car Wash (best car wash in town, we will fight you on this) all in the same area, 3040/2499 will be the destination for car stuff.
Yay?
